Onda

A Study in Oceanic Form

Moving beyond the shoreline and into the microscopic, drawing inspiration from the hidden geometries of ocean life. Created in collaboration with IPMA (Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere), Onda is the result of a close dialogue between science and design.

While researching at IPMA, Paula Vieira immersed herself in the cellular structures of marine organisms, translating their delicate, often symmetrical forms into tactile objects of adornment. Each piece echoes the intricacies found in nature’s smallest architectures: spirals, chambers, filaments, and spores, reimagined in precious metal.

This meeting of disciplines is deeply aligned with Paula Vieira Jewellery’s original language, where organic shape and quiet complexity have always guided the process. Onda honours the unseen world beneath the surface, and invites us to wear a fragment of its wonder.
